ARTIST Pete Jesser Peter has a wealth of experience in the Australian outback combining a passion for the bush with formal art training and the teaching of drawing and painting. His life has oscillated between a love of music and art. On a visit to Pro Hart he saw the way in which Pro used music as an adjunct to his painting and decided to try to combine them. That has been a long process with the realization that the studio which he built for recording and songwriting could not only accommodate his art work but that he could explore his passion for the outback in both music and art.
THE INSPIRATION Wirraminna, the land of diversity and wonder After Pete’s long time friend John Bayley began managing Wirraminna, a 1 million acre cattle station in the north west of South Australia, he spent a lot of time there sketching and painting and quickly reignited the passion with the land that had been missing with years of city life, teaching and playing music. Pete and John had for a long time worked in bands together traveling to many parts of the state and beyond. Now they were able to do that, with Wirraminna providing inspiration for songwriting and for drawing and painting. Wirraminna is in the Gawler bioregion and sits between Woomera and Glendambo on the Stuart Highway and consists of a wonderful diversity of outback environments.

ON LOCATION Open Air Art While many of Pete’s art works in pastel, oils or acrylics are completed in the studio at home, all of them begin in the field with long hours of observation and drawing. “ I believe it is vital to be a part of the environment which encapsulates not just the physical presence of a scene, but it’s culture, sensitivity, history and future. It’s important to me that I am expressing a lifetime of experience in my works and for each piece I have a range of parallel images and situations that express meaning and purpose”.
As a landscape artist Pete Jesser produces paintings that not only represent the outback but breathe the life of each particular area and it's unique characteristics. Giclee art prints enhance these art works with great quality and provide an excellent opportunity to purchase these works at bargain prices.
